PC 3 Meeting open to FC members | Time to build the United States of Europe. Which credible initiatives for European defence?
The question of European defence has become a crucial topic in the debate on the future of the European Union.
As federalists, we recognize that a common and effective defence policy is essential in an increasingly complex geopolitical landscape. It is also a fundamental step toward a stronger and more sovereign Europe.
This meeting, organized by Political Commission 3 of the Federal Committee, brings together members of the Federal Committee of the Union of European Federalists (UEF) to discuss how to achieve a genuine European defence. With Chair Carlo Maria Palermo coordinating the discussion, we will examine the technical and institutional aspects of a European defense framework, identify key challenges, and formulate concrete proposals to advance the federalist vision in this domain.
Federal Committee members will contribute their insights, and the Executive Bureau members, PC3 Chair, and rapporteurs are tasked with synthesizing the orientations expressed into a strong and common position on EU defence. This position will serve as a guiding framework for UEF’s advocacy and policy recommendations.
