In 2025 Europe marked the 30th anniversary of the Barcelona Conference (1995), a landmark moment that launched the Barcelona Process and laid the foundations for today’s Union for the Mediterranean (UfM), which promotes cooperation between the European Union and the countries of the Southern Mediterranean.

On the occasion of the UEF Spanish Congress and the UEF European Congress taking place in Barcelona, the Union of European Federalists (UEF) is organising a roundtable to commemorate this anniversary and reflect on the future of Euro-Mediterranean relations.

The event will take place between the conclusion of the UEF Spain Congress and the opening of the UEF European Congress.

Thirty years after the launch of the Barcelona Process, this roundtable will discuss the achievements, limitations and future prospects of Euro-Mediterranean cooperation, at a time of profound geopolitical changes in Europe and the Mediterranean region.
