Russia's aggression against Ukraine and efforts to spread autocratic governance around the world have greatly intensified the call for fundamental reform of the Union. Added to this urgency is the imperative to expand and include new member states. The European Parliament has started the process of amending the Treaties, with the aim of realising an ambitious project to transform the Union into a federation.

PC 1 will discuss the political and legal obstacles inherent in this essential reform process for the Union, in particular by examining the Memorandum 'Why we need a Convention to change the Treaties' (LINK HERE)
