March For Europe 2017
60TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE TREATIES OF ROME:
BEYOND THE CURRENT TREATIES, TOWARDS A FEDERAL UNION
WITH THE EUROPEAN PEOPLE, FOR THE EUROPEAN PEOPLE
Saturday 25 March, with the celebration of the 60th anniversary of the Treaties of Rome and the extraordinary success of the March for Europe, must become a turning point for everyone who cares about the success of the magnificent project of European unification. Citizens, political parties and civil society organisations have once again come together in Rome and many other European cities to defend the ideal of a peaceful Europe, founded on democracy, freedom and solidarity. But this renewed confidence in Europe must translate into a call to relaunch the process of European integration without delay – the only process capable of giving concrete form to the European ideal. This is the task that European federalists have set themselves in Rome, and on which they will intensify their efforts in the coming months.

Il 25 marzo 2017, mentre l’Europa celebra il 60° anniversario del Trattato di Roma che ha istituito la Comunità Economica Europea (CEE), migliaia di europei si riuniranno a Roma per participare alla Marcia per l’Europa 2017, dimostrare il loro supporto al progetto europeo e chiedere un rilancio dell’unità politica europea. I cittadini d’Europa e le organizzazioni della società civile esprimeranno la loro volontà di un’Europa migliore, più forte e più unita. L’iniziativa è stata promossa dall’Unione dei Federalisti Europei, i Giovani Federalisti Europei, Il Gruppo Spinelli, il Movimento Europeo Internazionale, e Stand Up for Europe insieme a una vasta rete di organizzazioni da tutta Europa.
