1.10. 80th Anniversary of the UEF - The online book
On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Union of European Federalists, the UEF is preparing an online publication dedicated to the history, identity and future of the European federalist movement.
The book is conceived as a collective project, built through the contributions of the UEF national sections. Each section is invited to present its own experience: the origins of the association in its country, the main stages of its development, its key achievements, the challenges it has faced, and the role it has played in the broader struggle for the political unity of Europe.
This publication is not intended merely as a historical or commemorative collection. Its purpose is to offer a shared reflection on the meaning of federalist action today and on the future prospects of the UEF, at a time when Europe is confronted with decisive challenges: peace, democracy, European sovereignty, social justice, the ecological transition, and the strengthening of common institutions.
Through the voices of the national sections, the book will highlight the richness and diversity of the European federalist experience, paying tribute to the contribution of generations of activists, leaders and associations to the building of a federal Europe. At the same time, it aims to put forward new ideas and orientations for political action in the years ahead, both at national and European level.
This editorial project is therefore an opportunity to look back at the UEF’s legacy, while also renewing its commitment to the future: contributing to the achievement of Europe’s political unity and strengthening the role of federalists in the European public debate.
The online book for the 80th anniversary of the UEF will be the result of a shared and participatory effort, expressing the common commitment of the national sections and the determination to continue, together, the struggle for a federal, democratic and effective Europe.
