Federalists' News (April-July 2019)
At the beginning of last week, UEF - in cooperation with JEF and The Spinelli Group - organised a set of events for the first plenary session of the European Parliament in Strasbourg.
A NEW PARLIAMENT FOR A NEW EUROPE:
MEET YOUR MEPS & CITIZENS' AGORA
1 JULY 2019
STRASBOURG
On the evening of Monday the 1st of July, in cooperation with the city of Strasbourg, we held a public debate with new Members of the European Parliament - “A new Parliament for a New Europe” - to present and discuss the federalists’ priorities for the next years. The event was exceptionally well attended, with ca 200 participants and ca 25 Members of the European Parliament from different countries and political parties engaging in a debate with our activists. Find here the list of the MEPs present. The event was preceded by an Agora for activists to prepare the event and our demands.
EUROPEAN FEDERALISTS CALL NEW PARLIAMENT
TO ACT FOR A FEDERAL EUROPE
On the morning of Tuesday the 2nd of July, we organised an action in front of the European Parliament, with a couple of hundred federalists activists from various countries, welcoming the MEPs entering the Parliament. Here you can find some pictures of the PUBLIC DEBATE and the DEMONSTRATION. These events are the first step in developing a relationship with the newly-elected European Parliament, which should be the front-runner in calling for a democratic, sovereign and federal Europe.
OUR CAMPAIGN FOR THE EUROPEAN ELECTIONS
Our 'I Choose Europe' campaign for the European elections has been a large success in calling citizens who believe in the European unity to come out and vote for a Stronger, Democratic, Social and Federal Europe. With over 250 candidates to the European Parliament who signed our pledge, we managed to form a strong core of federalist supporters in the new European Parliament. Watch HERE an overview of our campaign, and have a look at our main achievements below.
