The Taskforce Capacity Building and Twinning - Union of European Federalists

The initiative will connect UEF sections from different parts of Europe, helping them exchange experiences, build lasting partnerships and organise activities together.

What can twinned sections do?

Twinning can take place online or in person and may include:

Joint debates, campaigns and public events
Exchanges of ideas, resources and good practices
Study visits and meetings between members
Cooperation on shared European priorities
Mutual support in strengthening local activities and membership

We will map the participating sections and their existing partnerships, including possible links between their cities. Each participating section will receive tailored support, as well as a practical toolkit explaining how to establish and develop a successful twinning partnership.

A dedicated session is also being considered for the next UEF Federal Committee meeting in 20-22 November 2026, offering sections a concrete opportunity to connect and begin planning future cooperation.

Connecting people, skills and ideas across the UEF network

Connecting UEFers is a new initiative of the UEF Task Force on Capacity Building and Twinning. The project aims to develop a digital platform that will make it easier for UEF members across Europe to find one another, exchange expertise and collaborate on shared interests.

UEF is a diverse network of members with valuable political, organisational, professional and creative experience. However, members from different sections do not always have an easy way to discover who shares their interests or who may be able to contribute to a particular activity. Connecting UEFers seeks to bridge this gap.

What will the platform do?

The platform is intended to help UEF members:

Connect with federalists from other local, regional and national sections
Find members with similar political or professional interests
Identify expertise and skills available within the UEF network
Exchange knowledge, experience and good practices
Find collaborators for campaigns, events and other projects
Develop initiatives across sections and national borders
Strengthen the personal connections that sustain our European movement

By making the knowledge and experience within UEF more accessible, the platform can help turn ideas into concrete cooperation.

Developing the platform together

The project was presented by Rémi from UEF France and is currently being developed in consultation with interested UEF members and sections.

The next step will be to establish a small working group to define the platform’s specifications. This group will consider how the platform should work, which features would be most useful and how to encourage members to participate actively.

The objective is to develop a platform tailored to the real needs of the UEF network, with members involved from the design stage.

You can contribute by:

Sharing your ideas about the platform’s features
Identifying the needs of members and sections
Contributing technical or digital expertise
Supporting user experience and graphic design
Helping develop participation and communication strategies
Testing the platform during its development
