The Union of European Federalists Greece (UEF Greece), in cooperation with the Association of Greek Officials of International Organizations and the European Public Law Organization (EPLO), is pleased to invite you to the event entitled:

“EUROPE LOOKING TOWARDS THE FUTURE”

Sixty-nine years after its foundation, Europe today stands at perhaps the most critical crossroads in its modern history.

The international environment is marked by unprecedented geopolitical volatility, wars, energy disruptions, economic pressures, and uncertainty directly affecting societies and democratic stability across the European continent.

At the same time, the rise of anti-European and populist forces, the growing questioning of democratic institutions, and the European Union’s long-standing institutional weaknesses underline the urgent need for a Europe that is stronger, more cohesive, and more politically integrated.

Within this demanding environment, the debate on the future of Europe is no longer a theoretical exercise, but a strategic necessity for democracy, security, the economy, and Europe’s position in the world.

The event will take place on Wednesday, 13 May 2026, at 18:00, at the Permanent Representation of Greece to the European Union.

The speakers will include:

• Manolis Kefalogiannis, Member of the European Parliament, Group of the European People’s Party (EPP)
• Nicolas Farantouris, Member of the European Parliament, Group of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats (S&D)
• Ioannis Vrailas, Ambassador, Permanent Representative of Greece to the European Union
• Dionysios Kalamvrezos, Former Ambassador of Greece to Belgium – Head of the EPLO Office in Brussels
