{"id":1384,"date":"2026-01-25T23:32:06","date_gmt":"2026-01-25T23:32:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/federalists.eu\/kosovo\/?p=1384"},"modified":"2026-01-25T23:42:21","modified_gmt":"2026-01-25T23:42:21","slug":"delivering-europes-future-enlargement-security-and-federal-vision","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/federalists.eu\/kosovo\/delivering-europes-future-enlargement-security-and-federal-vision\/","title":{"rendered":"Delivering Europe\u2019s Future: Enlargement, Security, and Federal Vision"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>UEF Kosova at the Interregional Conference \u201cEU\u2019s Future: Enlargement, Security, and Delivering on Promises\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sofia, Bulgaria \u2014 13\u201314 December 2025 \u2014 UEF Kosova participated in the Interregional Conference \u201cEU\u2019s Future: Enlargement, Security, and Delivering on Promises\u201d, a joint European Federalist initiative developed together with UEF Bulgaria and UEF Romania, within the broader European Federalist network and supported by UEF Europe, with financing from the European Union.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The conference brought together policymakers, former heads of state, EU experts, civil society leaders, and federalist actors from across Europe to engage in strategic dialogue on one of the most defining questions for the continent: how the European Union delivers on its promises of enlargement, security, and democratic credibility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>Strategic Dialogue at a Critical Moment for Europe<\/strong><\/em> - At a time of geopolitical uncertainty, security challenges, and institutional transformation, the conference provided a high-level platform for structured debate on:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The future of EU enlargement and its political credibility<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The role of the Western Balkans in Europe\u2019s long-term stability<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Security as a structural pillar of European integration<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The need for institutional trust, delivery mechanisms, and democratic legitimacy<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>These discussions emphasized that enlargement is not merely a technical process, but a strategic European responsibility directly linked to peace, security, and long-term continental stability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Leadership, Vision, and Policy Perspective<\/em><\/strong> -The conference featured strong political leadership and forward-looking contributions, including high-level interventions and panel discussions with prominent European figures, among them:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Kristian Vigenin, Member of the European Parliament and former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Rosen Plevneliev, former President of Bulgaria<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Their contributions set a clear tone for the conference, underlining the necessity of credible enlargement policies, a coherent European security architecture, and a stronger, more unified European Union capable of acting strategically on the global stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The discussions were further enriched by substantive interventions from:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Granit T\u00ebrnava<\/strong>, Consultant and Politics &amp; Entrepreneurship Expert (Civil Society and Local Development)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Simina Tulbure<\/strong>, Honorary Adviser to the Romanian Minister of Investments and European Projects; former Member of the Romanian Chamber of Deputies<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Besnik Vasolli<\/strong>, Managing Director, German\u2013Kosovar Business Association (KDWV) and EU governance expert<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>alongside other distinguished speakers, who provided in-depth perspectives on governance, regional cooperation, institutional reform, and the political economy of European integration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>UEF Kosova\u2019s Federalist Commitment<\/em><\/strong> - Within this joint European Federalist initiative, UEF Kosova contributed actively to the shared strategic vision of the conference and reaffirmed its long-standing commitment to the European project and federalist values.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>UEF Kosova\u2019s engagement reflects a clear institutional orientation:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Supporting credible EU enlargement based on merit and reform<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strengthening democratic governance, rule of law, and institutional trust<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Promoting federalist principles as a foundation for European unity<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Advancing the full European integration of Kosovo and the Western Balkans<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Building cross-regional cooperation within the European Federalist network<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>For UEF Kosova, enlargement is not a political concession \u2014 it is a strategic investment in Europe\u2019s stability, security, and democratic future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Beyond Dialogue: Building a Shared European Future<\/em><\/strong> - The Interregional Conference concluded with a strong sense of collective responsibility, strategic alignment, and political clarity. The debates and exchanges moved beyond rhetoric, contributing to a shared understanding that Europe\u2019s future depends on its ability to deliver \u2014 institutionally, politically, and morally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The conference reaffirmed that EU enlargement, security policy, and democratic legitimacy are inseparable, and that the European project can only remain credible if it is capable of fulfilling its commitments to both its citizens and candidate countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Appreciation to Participants from Kosovo<\/em><\/strong> - UEF Kosova extends its sincere appreciation to the participants and contributors from Kosovo whose engagement and representation enriched the conference discussions and strengthened Kosovo\u2019s voice within the European Federalist network: Flondra Blakqori, Milot Rexhepi, Donika Bunjaku, Shkelzen Mahmuti and Edita Kryeziu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Special recognition is extended to the Kosovo speakers who contributed substantively to the conference debates: Besnik Vasolli \u2014 Managing Director, German\u2013Kosovar Business Association (KDWV); EU governance expert and Granit T\u00ebrnava \u2014 Consultant and Politics &amp; Entrepreneurship Expert (Civil Society and Local Development)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Their participation reflects Kosovo\u2019s growing role in European policy dialogue and federalist
